When it comes to the largest trade show in the world, it’s never too early to start planning or hyping new products and technologies. CES is only two months away and already we’re seeing some hot new products while developing client promotional plans. This week, we were at CES Unveiled New York, a precursor to the main event, and wow! If Unveiled NY is any measure of what we will see in January, get ready for some exciting new advances in the world of consumer electronics. Here’s a taste of what to expect:

The Connected Home is the new curved TV. Expect to see more curved, ultra HD, and OLED TVs unveiled at CES 2015 that are sure to wow some, but Connected Home technologies offer more near-term promise and potential for the average homeowner. Expect prices on startup packages to continue to drop fast as more device and platform manufacturers forge relationships with major retailers. At Unveiled NY, new Connected Home companies and devices were out in force, including, which offers a comprehensive network of home automation and protection services. Withings Home, another home connection play, offers a sensor that monitors all things indoors including light, motion, air quality, and everything that makes a house a home. And then there were the home devices, like SmartCharge Light, makers of a rechargeable light bulb, so when power goes out, you aren’t left in the dark. Pretty cool and practical, and a solution for fighting a flashlight in the dark only to find out the batteries are dead. And I really like what the folks at Fibaro are bringing to this space—the platform, hub, and all the devices to make your home smarter, safer, and easier to manage.

The Smart Basketball. Hey, watch out for this one. It’s should garner lots of headlines come CES. The Smart Sensor Basketball from 94fifty monitors and analyzes everything about your basketball shot, through a Bluetooth enabled app. It’s part of an expanding new class of connected products designed to improve sports performance, everything from your golf swing to your running gait.

High-quality audio. Bluetooth speakers are great, but they tend to look more like a brick than art. Enter Libratone, a family of wireless speakers, which combines high performance with aesthetics into a single elegant execution. They look marvelous and sound even better. I am already saving up my scheckles for their new Diva Sound Bar.

360 HD Camera. This one I really love. A 360 degree, fully immersive camera from Giroptic that does still, video, live streaming, and even comes with a water proof case and a light bulb adapter that allows you to screw it right into the ceiling. It’s super small with incredible HD clarity. Watch it’s video through Oculus Rift and it’s truly like being there. With a recent $1.4 million crowdfunding raised on Kickstarter, this just might be the next GoPro—only cooler, higher quality, and more immersive. Look for it in January.

So there you have it, a first look at tomorrow. Can’t wait to see you and all the other cool gizmos and gadgets at 2015 International CES in Las Vegas.
